Smart Soil Mapping

Smart Soil Mapping

High resolution soil maps created with fewer samples, making precision farming within reach.

Through the use of remote sensing technologies, our algorithms accurately identify the optimal locations for soil sampling. Thanks to a direct connection with the laboratory, results are automatically integrated into the SOIL-Data systems, ensuring a fast and standardised process for generating soil maps. Our innovative approach reduces the number of samples required, lowering the barrier for farmers to produce detailed soil maps and become precision-farming ready compared with conventional mapping methods.

The result? A clear understanding of soil structure, moisture, and nutrient levels that empowers smarter, more sustainable decision-making. Smart Soil Mapping lowers the barrier to precision agriculture, making data-driven, climate-resilient farming accessible to everyone.
Crop Monitoring - ScoutMaster™

Crop Monitoring - ScoutMaster™

Monitor, compare, and act, all from your own systems.

Our ScoutMaster system delivers real-time crop insights directly to your organisation. By utilising satellite imagery and advanced analytics, we monitor crop growth, soil conditions, and field performance across multiple locations, allowing for clear comparisons and actionable benchmarking. Our API-first approach ensures these insights integrate seamlessly into your existing systems, without the need to introduce a new application into your workflow. Partners and customers can access live data, trends, and alerts in a manner that fits naturally with their existing processes.

The result? Better-informed decisions, quicker responses to changes in crops and soil, and the ability to optimise production at scale. ScoutMaster transforms satellite data into a fully integrated, decision-ready service for modern agriculture.
Digital transformation of agriculture

The Digital Transformation of Agriculture

Enabling innovation while keeping farmers in control of their data.

As agriculture becomes increasingly digitised, farmers remain at the centre of a growing data ecosystem. We focus on developing robust, secure, and scalable methods for sharing agricultural data, ensuring clear ownership, compliance, and governance. By standardising and protecting information, we accelerate data-driven innovations, from certification and accountability to precision agriculture and AI-supported decision-making.

The result? A trusted, connected ecosystem in which data drives smarter, more sustainable, and climate-resilient farming.
Monitoring Cover Crops for Carbon Farming

Monitoring Cover Crops for Carbon Farming

Track, measure, and prove the impact of regenerative practices.

We develop and implement satellite-based methods to monitor cover crops as part of carbon farming programmes that support corporate climate strategies. By combining Earth observation with farm data, we quantify biomass, soil cover, and carbon sequestration performance across fields, farms, and regions. This provides verifiable, transparent evidence for insetting and offsetting claims, in line with emerging carbon certification standards.

The result? Our approach delivers clear, traceable carbon benefits, reduces reporting uncertainty, and offers genuine insight into the climate impact of regenerative practices across your supply chain, giving your organisation the confidence that every step towards sustainability is measurable and verifiable.
Can you trust your satellite data?

Can you trust your satellite data?

Ensuring data provenance, reliability, and trust.

Satellite data is increasingly used for monitoring, control, compliance verification, and guiding robotics, making it an indispensable part of the future of agriculture. However, in an era of spoofing, hacking, and other cybersecurity threats, satellite data has become vulnerable to tampering. We are working to restore and preserve trust in satellite data by combining certified Earth Observation (Copernicus EO) with authenticated navigation (Galileo HAS and NMA). Our goal is to establish trusted data flows across the entire data value chain, from field operations to reporting. Through certified protocols, machine data standards, and protected data files, we build trust, transparency, reliability, and provenance into every step, from prescription maps to applied results.

The result? Trusted, transparent, and reliable data flows from field operations to reporting, ensuring actionable and secure precision agriculture outcomes.
Predictive Harvest Intelligence

Predictive Harvest Intelligence

Using remote sensing to provide precision insights into harvest timing.

Harvest readiness in labour-intensive crops such as broccoli can vary significantly within a single field, presenting a major logistical challenge in determining when and where to deploy the harvest team. Our predictive harvest tool combines remote sensing, crop growth models, and drone observations to forecast, and continuously update, the readiness of each part of a field. This enables growers to deploy teams and machinery precisely where and when they are needed, minimising idle time and enhancing efficiency.

The result? Smarter harvest management that reduces wasted time, improves labour planning, and ensures a smoother, more profitable harvesting process.
Drone-powered Crop Monitoring & Optimization

Drone-Based Crop Monitoring and Optimisation

Bringing aerial intelligence to field management & research.

Monitoring crop growth and the effectiveness of field operations has traditionally been time-consuming and prone to variability. With drone-based imaging and analysis, we can now quickly assess the impact of techniques like potato haulm killing or cover crop seeding across multiple fields. These analyses are conducted for trial-field research. For example, SOIL-data has experience in potato field trials, analyzing the effect of different haulm killing techniques on crop regrowth. Another type of analysis compares conventional cover crop seeding to drone-seeding approaches across multiple parcels, focusing on plant size, distribution, and overall establishment success.

The result? Clear analysis reports allow objective comparisons of trial fields on any given day using high-resolution drone imagery. Researchers gain actionable insights into crop performance, enabling the optimisation of field management strategies, supporting data-driven decisions, and ultimately enhancing productivity and sustainability in modern agriculture.
Carbon Farming and Crediting

Carbon Farming and Crediting

Data-Driven Carbon Farming for Reliable Revenue.

Organising carbon credits as an additional revenue stream for the agricultural sector requires a precise and reliable approach to Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MRV). SOIL-Data has developed advanced methods that utilise satellite-based monitoring to measure carbon sequestration on farmland, a practice also known as Carbon Farming. Our aim is to make this process smarter, more cost-effective, and, above all, more reliable. Using state-of-the-art satellite tools, our system monitors crop growth, field management, and cultivation practices such as ploughing and harvesting to quantify the amount of carbon stored in the soil. Soil sampling is optimised: fewer samples are required, but they are strategically selected using intelligent algorithms, maximising accuracy while minimising effort.

The result? A more precise and cost-efficient MRV process, enabling farmers to reliably generate carbon credits. Smarter monitoring, optimized soil sampling, and data-driven insights make carbon farming a practical, profitable, and environmentally responsible revenue model for the agricultural sector.
Responsible data governance in agriculture

Responsible Data Governance in Agriculture

Turn data management into a strategic advantage, safeguarding trust while unlocking value.

Agricultural organisations today generate and manage vast amounts of data, from production figures and management activities to environmental monitoring and sustainability performance. Managing this information responsibly is essential to protect the interests of members, partners, and the wider community. Without clear guidelines, this information can quickly become a risk rather than an asset. A well-designed data governance framework provides the structure needed to handle data responsibly, ensuring sensitive information remains secure while supporting data-driven innovation and collaboration. We help organisations make better-informed decisions while maintaining stakeholder trust. Our data governance services assist in establishing the policies, processes, and culture required to manage data with confidence and care.

The result? Trustworthy, compliant, and effective data management that supports smarter agricultural decision-making.
